The house is suitable for a stay with 6 people.

Our cottage is beautifully situated on a side road that leads from the village of St. Privat de Champclos to the Cèze. There is a naturist camp there, but that doesn't bother us, because the house is on a side road and we have a swimming pool ourselves. The cottage has its own grounds of approximately 2 hectares. From the terrace you have a beautiful view of the Cevennes. On the right side of the house is also a vineyard, which is separated from our house by a row of not too tall trees.

Having a house in France has long been our ideal, because I am a French teacher. When we saw the house Le Chêne, we were immediately enthusiastic. What a view! After 31 years, they still enjoy going there.

Additional information

Our cottage is beautifully situated on that side road and the village of St. Privat the Champclos leads to the Cèze. There is a nudist camp there, but we have no problems, since the house is located on a side road and we own a swimming pool. The cottage has its own grounds of approximately 2 hectares. From the terrace a beautiful view on the Cevennes. On the right side of the house is also a vineyard, that our house is separated by a row of not very tall trees.
There is a large living room with kitchen. This room has a sofa bed, that may be converted to a 2 pers. bed. The kitchen is simple, there is a 4 burner stove, a refrigerator (spare refrigerator in the sauna / barn), a small electric oven, coffee maker, kettle. Furthermore, table cutlery, pans, frying pans, etc., in abundance. There is a supply of coffee, tea, etc., but we ask you all to replenish if you are used instead. If the refrigerator is closed when you arrive, you can call it back by pressing the button at the distribution of the toilet and that "fridge" is key. The button to the bottle to do it, is behind the same curtain at the back. It also recently acquired a small dishwasher model (tabletop, 4 pers.) Behind the curtain in the kitchen. Presumably, everything by itself, otherwise it is to try it. There is hot and cold running water. Upon arrival you will be asked to verify that the central button that makes the electricity on and off, in the right position. The meter in which this button is cabinet, hanging on the wall of the toilet If you are the last guest who are staying in the cottage, we ask you for this button again to the "off" position zetten. In the old part is 1 bedroom with 2 pers. bed (extra long, 2 m). The bedroom has a large closet, where you can lay down your clothes. Very much room for clothes to hang there in the old part, not in the new part you can clothes in the plastic wardrobe, still folded standing in the hall / 3rd bedroom of the new part of the house .. The clothes must be hung on hangers we always hang the clothes hooks to the wall. The corridor is also a stepping stone which possibly squatting, pants can be hung. There is a bathroom with a shower, sink, closet, separate toilet, hallway. There is a small T.V. unit in the woonkamer.Er since the spring of 2006 a piece to the house built. This new section includes 3 bedrooms, a "dégagement" - sort of hall and a bathroom. Bedroom has 2 separate beds and is fairly large. Bedroom 2 is a children's bedroom with bunk beds, which also can sleep 2 adults, it is a small bedroom. Bedroom 3 is located at the new entrance of the house. There is a sofa, which can be changed in a 2p. bed. The bathroom has a small bath and 2 sinks and a toilet.Er is an invalid entry in the house, it is also suitable for eg inside a stroller ride. A.I. ! note the closet has a septic tank, this means that no bleach or other corrosive substances down the toilet may be thrown. We have a special cleaner for the toilet on the spelbak of the A.I. stand. When this is finished, you can buy new ones at the drugstore (Sarrasin) that his shop in the marketplace has to Barjac. This would viz imply that the natural flora is destroyed and that the toilet clogged. For the next bedroom and the living room is a covered terrace with a magnificent view of the aforementioned Cévennes. Besides the house, completely enclosed by a white wall, a pool of 12 by 6 m on one side open garage, comes on the terraces to the swimming pool from. In the garage there is a caravan, in which a 2 pers. and a 1-press. bed (smal!) sit. There is a sauna (currently used as a barn and a storage shelf) next to the garage, the garage is built solid. In the sauna / barn is a sink and a washing machine. The wax may be hung to dry on the line, which we are at the side of the sauna have stretched. Cars can next to the garage / sauna parked on the property.
There is every week someone maintain the pool. You have nothing to do. (There is a detailed description on the use of the pool and the work that must be performed to clean the pool / or upon arrival to clean. We ask you to study this manual carefully and to respect the rules, since pool simply a precise care demands. The chlorine tablets and liquid chlorine (very careful, of course it is dangerous if you this on your hands!) are in the closet behind the caravan. Here are the supplies to the ph. content to maintain. For the "local technique" You just need the steps of the porch off the wall along the cedar. Here, in the wall that surrounds the pool, is the "local technique", clearly visible through the wooden door that is before us. My husband can you for your departure, when collecting the keys, all orally, so you hopefully in a pool with clear water to swim. assumption must, however, that in May is too cold to swim and in June probably swimming weather, but we obviously can not guarantee.) July and August are the best vacation months if you really like to sunbathe and swim, but May, June and September are also delicious, especially when you also To create or even rides likes to take long walks. That runs directly from the cottage, the scrubland begins just before our house. We recommend that you have to stop by the V.V.V. Barjac (located 3 miles from Saint Privat de Champclos) to go to maps to buy, since it is easy to get lost. In the immediate vicinity of the house, as I wrote, a pristine area that is typical Provencal and consists of slightly prickly bushes. If you go hiking boots so. A little later start than a forest that goes towards the river Cèze. There are also wild boars, but they are very tame, except perhaps in the spring when they are young. At night they often come right up to the house to eat the apple. My daughter has once seen a fox, which had ventured to the terrace, but we have to make a hash on the terrace, so foxes can not come. Under the tiles of the covered terrace houses dormice, "loirres" in French, night creatures who look very pretty. You actually live in nature, but the house is not lonely. Last year, on the opposite side of the paved road that leads to our house a home built, all nicest people-Monsieur et Madame Pesenti-live. In the old farmhouse at the end of the road lies the French and live in the bush that our house is, there are 2 wooden houses where the French live.
At 3 km from our village is quite a large 16th century town with many restaurants. In the top right drawer of the large cupboard in the living room, we have a folder with information submitted. Here you will find some restaurants mentioned, but it's also fun to decide what to look. Well, La Chaise longue, le Clos des Capucins, Esplanade, La Fontanilha and many other restaurants. The area is particularly good for making trips, it is a journey through the Cevennes, or a trip along the Ardeche. It is too much to mention, you look yourself at the local tourist office. On Friday there is a market in Barjac. You can get anything, also have 2 viskramen, Provencal fabrics stalls that sell bread, wine, lavender soap Others, olives, herbs, fruits, etc. There is a large supermarket just outside Barjac, direction Saint Ambroix, right at the roundabout, but the town itself are also 2 smaller grocers. The best bakery you can find on the road to Saint Ambroix, at the height of the marktplein.Nog more information about the environment can be found at www.tourism-Barjac-st-privat.com
Lovely detached villa, surrounded by nature. Really something for nature lovers. In the bush for the interior of nightingales, you can hear the cry hop, sit orioles. There many swallows flying around. There may be plenty of walks directly from the house. In the river Cèze can swim, eg at Rochegude or Montclus. There is a tennis court in Saint Privat de Champclos terrace and a wave direction and Vagnas Anduze. You can also enjoy trips to the Cévennes and the Ardèche. Avignon and Nimes are within an hour's drive away. Closer are the beautiful towns of Uzes and Aubenas. There are also numerous smaller towns in the former Hanseatic Route layers and castles to visit. Barjac and near Barjac are a fascinating area. People who love nature and of history will keep their hearts can pick up.

Nature
From the house in Saint Privat de Champclos you can straight into the garrigue (uncultivated land with thorny shrubs and many wild plants and flowers) in walking and endless wandering through the magnificent nature and verademende silence. In the spring you can the song of the nightingale, the call of the hops and hear the oriole. And many more species of birds including the black redstart, the bee-eater, tail tit etc. In May and sometimes even the orchids bloom in April, as the wasps - and several orchid Ophrys species. Nature manifests itself fully in the spring, but summer is all dry. There are bats, owls fly over there at night and there are wild boars in the field in front of our house, separated from the site for our house by a small wall and wire. You are surrounded by nature, that is a true experience. Yet the house is not lonely, because our lives diagonally across the Pesenti family, nice young people who will hand you the keys. At the end of the paved road that leads to our house and not far from us, lies the 16th century restored farmhouse "La Blaquiere", where a French family lives. In the grove at the front of the house lives a young couple.

History
As far as history is concerned, one finds remnants from prehistoric times to the Renaissance go. There are "dolmen", a large number of underground caves. In Vagnas you find a "magnanerie", in other words a kind of large country house / castle where silkworms were grown for the silk. It is now a museum, where still the silkworms in "operation" can be seen. It is very worthwhile, especially if you even after a delicious meal at "Le vieux Porche", delicious and cheap.
Saint Privat de Champclos today has also been a fine restaurant, "Le Vieux Toulouse" called. It lies on the back of the church in the middle of the village. I can not guarantee that it is always open, but you yourself look at their website: Google and then "le Vieux Porche 'and you have all necessary information.
Sports:
There can be driven around horse. There can swim in the Cèze, but it must be nice weather, so let's say from May 1 In April it is sunny, and usually warm but not hot enough for swimming. Our own private pool goes after its winter also open until 1 May. Alternatively, we ask whether the "Poolman" 10 days before coming, but the water after the hardy still pretty cold.

Barjac
Barjac is an old town whose oldest part dates back to the 11th century: it is the castle in the middle of the town lies. There are also some medieval streets over. The best information you can win in the local tourist office, which is also the center of the town lies. Here are the address, email address, telephone and website:
Tourist Office, 30430 Barjac.

History (continued)
Behind the post office is the old city gate, which of the 12 - 13th century.
The tourist office organizes walks through the old city.
Barjac was formerly a kind of observatory, where the "traffic" through the valley was controlled and also 2 times a year where large fairs were held. Here one could be commercial, vegetables, fruit and more sustainable resources to sell or trade. Still, there are 2 x per year market, but now the antique markets around Easter and August 15 (Assumption Day) held. Both last for 4 days and are very worthwhile. It is however very busy, because people come from far and wide to visit these markets. Your car can hardly lost touch, unless you do a great distance from the center park.
There were in the 14th city walls built around the city, but soon had to be built outside these walls. When the British invaded the city around 1374, decided Barjacois to build new walls. These are today is still partially visible. Barjac was a real trade and there were houses with turrets in the city built as a sign of opulence and wealth, it became a major transit point for trade between the Rhone Valley and the Cevennes.
In 1562 the Protestant church founded in Barjac. Bitter fighting broke out between Catholics and Protestants. After Grimoard de Beauvoir du Roure hede glory Barjac had purchased between 1608 and 1634, was Barjac's population in late 16th century was mainly Protestant, Catholic. This partly because the people swore allegiance to the Catholic King Louis XII when he visited the city. Louis XIII stayed in Barjac on June 5, 1629, probably in the still existing "Café du Centre".
The Renaissance streets, all with "cobblestone" paved and form a picturesque sight. The "rue Droite" covenant 2 city gates, it was mainly a trade route and today is still a nice shopping street. Previously there was a ditch on the north side of town, with a drawbridge to town to be isolated from any enemy. This canal bridge and there are now no more.
In the neighborhood of Saint Privat de Champclos is also a "Capitelle" a shelter for shepherds in ancient times. The buildings that are of natural stone with a single entrance and no windows, they are real hides. They are popularly called "Bories" called.

Naturist
The Cèze are some naturist campsites. We are far from there, but all signs, they have announced: "Le Ran du Chabrier," "Le Château de Fereyrolles" etc. The latter camp is near the remains of the medieval Château de Fereyrolles, wonderful to be here for a walk go to, but watch them take your TomTom or another agent to the way back, because the scrubland looks stunning and everywhere treacherous lot in itself. We're already lost many times.

Cities / Markets
Not far from Barjac lie Ales, Uzes, Aubenas, Saint Ambroix. All they have great weekly markets. Also on Friday Barjac has a lively market where you delicious fish, vegetables, cheese, bread, herbs, lavender soaps, Provencal fabrics, etc. can buy.
Our motto is: go see for yourself, it's very worthwhile!
We bought the house in 1984, based on an advertisement in the NRC. It seemed so very attractive to buy a house in France, especially because I am French teacher.
When we left the house and especially the pool and saw the view, we were immediately in love op.We now have the house 26 years and still go there as much fun going, with even more fun. There is now the huiseen new wing and we have all the electrics and heating updated.

We recommend that you take the

between two farms by. Then watch out: on your right is a little later,

road to take. If you're driving through the bend, you see first on your
left a large house with pool: this is the home of the Pesenti family,
and then on your right 2 connected buildings (house and garage) are. A
gate closes off the premises, on the oak that stands on the road, you

into the ground up to do. You drive onto the site and enters the house
either by walking around the house and the terrace at the rear to enter
