Charm (Les Volets Bleus)

The name Charme has many meanings in French: Enchanting, attractive, graceful, but also something completely different, namely the name for a tree, the Hornbeam. There is a huge centuries-old hornbeam on the site as a border tree ... This old half-timbered house is the last / first house of a small hamlet. Year of construction unknown, but from before 1700 according to the neighbor. It is a spacious and comfortable house with a nice fireplace and kitchen. It has a large bedroom on the ground floor, among other things. It is a 4-hour drive from Calais.

The location is beautiful, you will relax! There are cranes at the house from October to early March. Montier and Der are approximately 3 km away. A village with 3 supermarkets, a few restaurants, banks, bakers, etc. The Lac du Der is about a 10-minute drive away. This huge lake with surrounding forests is about as large as the Hoge Veluwe. Beautiful beaches, lots of nature, many attractions for young and old. The back garden of the house is completely fenced and with the hiking trails at the house it is also ideal for dog owners.

The house is fully equipped and fully furnished and has a modern kitchen. You have an excellent internet connection and the reception of Dutch, Flemish and German TV channels. In the early and late season it is also possible to book a long weekend or midweek.

I discovered the Champagne region in 2003 and since 2013 I have been living here and renovating houses that I then rent out as a holiday home and I help people with renovations or management. I feel like a hard-working rentier. I live about half an hour from my "Charme" holiday home. "Chatrou" is next to my house. I also rent that out through Micazu. I am happy to be at your disposal and would love it if you would like to embrace this region just like me. Unknown, quiet and beautiful ...

Elvier from Haarlem / Netherlands - Rating: 10 (stay: 02-10-2017 until 09-10-2017) was pleased that ...
It is a beautiful beautifully refurbished house, which is very nice, practical and complete. Everything was very clean, also important. Also a beautiful large veranda, where it is wonderful to stay. You have a beautiful view on three sides of the house. The neighbors are far enough not to bother. The backyard is completely fenced, which is relaxed for both boss and dog. We also went to the other house with the owner, 'Maison Garde Barrière'. This is also a nice cozy house with a large wood stove in the room and a delicious kitchen. You walk straight from home into the forest. Both houses are certainly worth a nice holiday! The owner was very nice and willing. The information and directions were, just like the house, very complete. In short, we and the dog have had a wonderful holiday! did not like it ... NVT has the following tips ... There is plenty to do in the area, among other (crane) birds watching at Lac du Der. You can enjoy fantastic hiking in the extensive forests. We have also been to the exhibition of the life of painter Renoir. The exhibition is fun. I would also like to recommend the champagne tasting at 'Monial Champagne'. You can taste 6 different champagnes and thus really choose. During the tour you could see that it was a local champagne farmer

Family Kicken from Landgraaf / the Netherlands - Rating: 8 (stay : 22-09-2017 t / m 29-09-2017) liked it ... Top house, the dog could be carefree in the garden! has the following tips ... Be sure to visit one of the many champagne houses. And certainly go, if you like to keep on going, walk on the dike!

07-10-2018 - mrs. Dubbelman from the Netherlands (stay: 21-09-2018 until 28-09-2018) Fine reception. Beautiful house, with a well fenced garden so that our dog could walk away. Lovely atmosphere in the evening by the fireplace. You can see the stars from the garden! We had a nice meal in the village and tasted Champagne in the neighborhood. In the house there was a lot of information about places to eat and other outings.

14-08-2018 - mrs. Kim from the Netherlands (stay: 27-07-2018 t / m 03-08-2018) Nice house for a carefree, lazy holiday. Environment is equipped for relaxing, lazing and swimming at the Lac du Der. Cottage fully equipped. Thank Leo for the hospitality!

20-07-2018 - mr. van der Tuuk from the Netherlands (stay: 11-08-2017 t / m 25-08-2017) Nice quiet area a short distance from the lake. Peacefully quiet. House with many conveniences

23-05-2018 - mr. quisnoy from Belgium (stay: 18-05-2018 t / m 21-05-2018) Very good with the closed garden for the dogs

19-03-2018 - mrs. Karremans from the Netherlands (stay: 09-03-2018 t / m 16-03-2018) Everything was neatly arranged by appointment. The fireplace was ready for use and there was a delicious bottle of homemade apple juice and a French cheese ready for us. Great start of a wonderful relaxing week in France!

30-10-2017 - mr. Smits from the Netherlands (stay: 20-10-2017 t / m 27-10-2017) beautiful house, beautiful surroundings. The owner is very friendly and gives a lot of explanation about what to do in the area. We were lucky, the cranes were sitting opposite the house in the meadows. Also seen a lot of real.
05-08-2017 - mr. Meyer from the Netherlands (stay: 21-07-2017 t / m 28-07-2017) In advance we have received a comprehensive e-mail from the homeowner with all kinds of information in Dutch about the house and the surroundings. As a result, we were well prepared for travel. Very nice to start with the holiday. The house was easy to find and clearly recognizable by the blue shutters on the outside. Leo (homeowner) was already present. The acquaintance was friendly and nice. After a tour through the house and the formalities to have settled we could go to the house. Despite the fact that the house is on the road, you hardly suffer from it. The environment is very quiet / natural for the rest. The house is nicely equipped. Everything we needed was there. 2 comments from our side 1) The gauze to keep the flies / mosquitoes out does not work enough 2) Had there been a direct passage to the terrace at the back, it would have been a top house. In the week we have been there we have had enough to do with everything in the area. Visit to Troyes is a must as well as the lake with several beaches. Nature lovers will get their money's worth with different observation huts and routes. Because of the distance to the Netherlands this house was a nice stopover for us on the way to the further south of France.

10-07-2017 - mrs. Groen from the Netherlands (stay: 23-06-2017 t / m 07-07-2017) The cottage is fine and equipped with all comforts. Cozy in a small village where the residents watched our dogs with interest and we were able to make a chat with our hands and feet. the fence around the garden is fine and high enough for our large dogs. The environment is beautiful and there is plenty to do. the owner of the house sent us a nice and pleasant reception e-mail in which he explained a number of things and also gave possibilities for two websites that we have gratefully used. visited several cities but also villages and also a champagne farm in an authentic accommodation where in the past monks lived, Monier Champagne. Very nice to go there, to hear the stories and to taste the champagne. With the help of Tripadvisor we have found good restaurants of which one really excelled, namely Le Grange aux Abeilles in Giffaumont-Champaubert. Delicious food and a very friendly helpful owner. In the villages in the area we had the pleasant experience that residents tried to help us and to explain things. You do not experience such helpfulness everywhere. In short, we had a very good holiday. A little less point are the flies that stabbing properly and the mattress in the bedroom downstairs has had its longest time. But the pluses easily win the lesser points. In short, a must!

16-06-2017 - mrs. Hobma from the Netherlands (stay: 26-05-2017 t / m 09-06-2017) House was nice and beautiful. Nothing to do in the area. For rest a 10 but if you like something then this is not the place.

08-05-2017 - mrs. Heye from the Netherlands (stay: 28-04-2017 t / m 01-05-2017) Everything very well arranged by the landlord nice welcome and clear explanation. Nice rooms clean and cozy. Garden and covered terrace perfect.

20-04-2017 - mrs. Steegmans from Belgium (stay: 14-04-2017 t / m 17-04-2017) Fine welcome by owner with cheese and applejuice .Beautiful cottage in quiet area

04-11-2016 - mrs. Dieters from the Netherlands (stay: 17-10-2016 to 24-10-2016) Lovely house, especially the atmosphere is very nice in the house. The house is wonderful outside, with fruit trees and horses next to the house. Really everything is there, which is nice when you arrive. The rooms are fine, the kitchen is great and there is plenty of seating. The bathroom and toilet are in the same room and next to the kitchen, which is less ideal. But good to do. The shower gives delicious and lots of water. The environment is fun, around the lake cycling is really a must. We have only cycled a little bit. The road to it is fairly busy and it is quite hard to drive. A good option is to put the bikes on the back of the car and load them there. Many people do that and there are many parking spaces. At the lake are also restaurants, kiosk, etc. The owner is friendly and well approachable by app and by phone. The meter readings are recorded on arrival and also on departure. This is then settled with the deposit. A great system. All in all a wonderful holiday!

30-10-2016 - mrs. Lems from the Netherlands (stay: 10-09-2016 to 01-10-2016) WERE GIVING FRIENDLY, THE HOUSE WAS PRIMA AND THE ENVIRONMENT WAS BEAUTIFUL TO WALK, THE MORE LAC DU DER IS NEAR.
