Villa Forza

Very spacious detached villa with a private swimming pool and a garden of 2500 m² in the hamlet of Talazargues near the village of Saint-Gely in the South of France. Built in the traditional local architectural style with a ceiling that reaches up to 5 meters at its highest point. The view is beautiful and is formed by vineyards and hills. The villa is on one level, with a large living room and open kitchen, 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, a second toilet and a utility room.

From the covered terrace adjacent to the living room you can reach the swimming pool. There are six sunbeds. Furthermore, various seats have been created, so that you can sit in the sun or in the shade all day long. The pergola with lounge set also provides shade. Finally, there is an opportunity to barbecue.

Additional information

Particularly spacious detached villa with a private swimming pool on a 2500 m² plot. The river Cèze where you can swim and kayak is a few hundred meters. Also the famous Gorges de l'Ardèche can be reached within a half hour by car. Saint-Gely belongs to the municipality of the picturesque artist village of Cornillon. Your daily bag of bread and newspaper will take you to the picturesque town of Goudargues, 3 kilometers away. This village has a dozen waterfront restaurants. Ideal for an alternate stay: relax in and around the house, beautiful walks in the area, kayaking nearby and surrounded by numerous fun places and caves to visit on day trips.
Villa Forza is located in the northeast of the department of Gard in the Languedoc Roussilon region, in the valley of the Cèze. The river flows about 300 meters from the house. The surrounding landscape is particularly harmonious and consists of green valleys with vineyards and a characteristic village here and there. The house is located in the hamlet Talazargues, which houses only a few houses. The adjacent village of Saint-Gely is not too big, although it has a restaurant and a real landmark: La Chapelle St. Sauveur, a 12th-century pilgrimage destination with annual processions in early May and August. The town hall is located in nearby Cornillon, a village worth the effort of a visit. It is in the shadow of protected walled walls and offers beautiful views of the valley. There are also remains of a castle that has been in the hands of the same family for four centuries.
Two kilometers southwest of Cornillon lies the pleasant village of Goudargues. This village thanks its nickname of the "Venice of the Gard" by the river that slinges through the center and in the summer months there are numerous terraces. In this picturesque village hangs a typical Provencal atmosphere with ancient plane trees, a fountain and a church. You can also buy Dutch newspapers here.
Around 5 kilometers northwest of Goudargues, you will reach a beautiful village, Saint-André-de-Roquepertuis, where houses are nestled in the shadow of the church's massive bell tower.
Montclus, 5 kilometers away, is a lovely village nestled in a Cèze loop. Above the village, the donjon (castle castle) of the dilapidated castle tower.
As you continue your road to the north, you reach the slightly larger Barjac area (1500 inhabitants) in the vicinity of the Gorges de l'Ardèche and the Gorges de la Cèze. The 17th century castle, the church and the old houses form a beautiful whole.
Directly north of the Cèze valley you will find the famous Gorges de l'Ardèche, the river that borders the Ardèche department. Over a distance of 35 kilometers, the Ardèche finds its way through unspoiled nature, between limestone cliffs of 200 to 300 meters high. A fantastic face! For canoeers and kayakers this is paradise on earth.
East of the Valley of the Cèze flows from north to south, the river Rhône. Here the vineyards cherish in the sun on the low hills. Everywhere you come here are cooperative wine cellars. Interesting places on the Côte du Rhône are Roquemaure, Tavel (famous for the local rosé), Lirac (once again a famous wine village) and the adorable village of Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres, whose medieval character has been very well preserved. What's more to the south is the beautiful city of Avignon.
Also to the south of the Valley of the Cèze there are plenty of vineyards. You are here in the Uzège region, its name thanks to the most important town of this area, especially beautiful and cozy Uzès (9000 inhabitants), a former diocese with many houses from the 17th and 18th centuries.
To the north of Uzès, the places of Saint-Victor-des-Oules are famous for the quartzite groves and the shattered rock of sandstone, and Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie, which indeed lives largely from the ceramic industry.
A gem is the fortress village of Lussan, 18 kilometers north of Uzès, perhaps the most beautiful high-rise village of southern France and an unspoilt version of a Provençal village.
Of course, the Pont-du-Gard can not be skipped east of Uzès, towards Avignon.
About 25 kilometers south of Uzès lies Nimes (140,000 inhabitants), worth a day trip, as well as the further south of Montpellier in the Herault. A lovely authentic town in the vicinity of Nimes is Sommières. South of Nimes, the Petit Camargue region extends.
In an hour's drive from Villa Forza you can also take a dip in the Mediterranean.
Further on the west you can make day trips to the Cévennes while eastward, waiting for the temptations of Provence across the river Rhône.
On this page a selection of what our Netherlands-speaking guests in the guest spot have written.

On our arrival we immediately found a beautiful surroundings, the house was fantastic, with all the trimmings. The pool was so nice, a bit cold, but enjoyed every day. Enjoyed you dinner, several good restaurants. Unfortunately for our eight days off was a bit short. Near here, a visit to Roque sur Ceze. Beautiful!

Eddy, Annemie, Doug & Ann-Charlotte Lamont, Kerkhove-Avelgem (4 november 2006):
It was a nice holiday. First days beautiful sun, colder later in the week. The surroundings are beautiful, the house is comfortable. Many trips made, very nice: Mont Ventoux, Saintes Marie de la Mer and the Camargue on horseback.

Ellen & Theo Ligtenberg, Zoetermeer (24 February 2007):
Even in winter it is nice to have a holiday here. We have explored the area thoroughly. Could afternoon in a lounge chair on the terrace enjoying the winter sun. We will definitely come back for some summer sun.

Eric, Ursula & Jade Wesseling-Baptism Maassluis (28 april 2007):
What a lovely house! All rooms are spacious and light. It remains cool when it gets warmer outside! We have two wonderful weeks behind. Had very nice weather, so between 20 and 30 degrees. It was so sad that the pool was not open yet. The bbq is well used on the nights that we could eat outside. The surroundings are beautiful! And there is so much to see and do. We would like to come back.

Ad and Heddy de Goei, Maarssen (7 July 2007):
A delicious one-week stopover on way to Spain for the outward and return journey. A beautiful house with all the trimmings. Even if disabled, I could here the fine feet. Centrally located for excursions and a walk. Will definitely go back!

Fam. Heijthuijzen, Aelse (3 August 2007):
For us is' t it again! Too bad, because once again enjoyed at Villa Forza. Compliments to Mrs.. Deville, the house was really clean. Looking for a good restaurant? Stay close to home: Auberge Quatre Saisons, definitely worth it. We will be back.

Fam. Van Heerdt, Hazerswoude (17 August 2007):
What was great here. We have enjoyed the terrible house, pool and surroundings. Thank you that we have enjoyed.

Beautiful house in beautiful surroundings. Enjoyed the sun, swimming pool, heat, wind, lightning, CDs, tourist information, excursions ... Hopefully we turn back again.

Martin & Greta Garez, Waregem (14 september 2007):
Our second holiday at Villa Forza is almost over. Again a very enjoyable holiday. Ate well, walked a lot and idled in the sun at the pool, because the whole week the weather was good, especially Thursday and today. This time we have the route Saint-Gely and Barjac explored. Very nice and good eating in Lussan, La Petite Auberge de Lussan. Too bad, but go home tomorrow, hopefully it's for next year again. Thanks for all the comfort that we have here. It was delicious! For the following guests: a nice holiday.

Hans, Els, Nick Beemsterboer & Elly, Where Land (13 October 2007):
Fourteen days a pleasant holiday in beautiful surroundings. We had very nice weather. Later in the second week chilly, but perfect walking weather, whatever we did. Lots of beautiful things. The next holiday we also wish a happy time in Villa Forza far.

Doeke and Jolande Koole, Leerdam (20 October 2007):
Villa Forza is great! It's really good for a week verbljven in a spacious, comfortable house overlooking the vineyards. The wine here tastes so good and better than at home ... the house was clean and tidy.

Jean & Lea Olaers, Genk (3 november 2007):
This is a jewel of a house, you do not miss the comforts of home. Prima apartment cleaned and maintained. We will definitely come back here, because even for us who still eight times already visited this region are still discovering new things and places, even in autumn. The folders with tips and information are an additional plus. Recommended, thank you and goodbye.

Simone & John Maatkamp, ??Deventer (17 november 2007):
Had two wonderful weeks. Beautiful and spacious house, beautiful surroundings and lots of sun. The folders with tips came in very handy and very useful ... We really enjoyed it and wish the next guests a pleasant stay.

Rani Robbe & Wahlen, Essen (March 22, 2008):
This is a house where you can enjoy. Lots of space, comfortable luxury, zuidse environment and a wonderful sun as she wants to come from behind the clouds. Avignon is well worth the small local markets and have a cozy atmosphere that you rarely find in Belgium ... We hope at least one more time to come back.

Fam. Liebrand, Ulft (13 september 2008):
Very much enjoyed the house and its surroundings. What a calm, delicious, delicious pool! All info available, fine. We wish all guests who are still lots of fun and a great holiday, we were sure.

Martin and Greta Garez, Waregem (20 september 2008):
Have another great holiday,. Too bad the weather was disappointing, but we walked a lot and enjoyed everything. At the next holiday we wish a happy holidays, bye!

Marja and Kees de Rover, Spijkenisse (4 October 2008):
We have really enjoyed these two weeks holiday in your huis.Villa Forza is a beautiful house on a beautiful spot in the Gard. It is modern and well furnished and cozy what with all amenities. It is a very luxurious home inside and out. We also want to thank you for the bottle of wine, very nice horn and further it was spotless inside (certainly not a French horn blow!). The many information that we in the TV unit were found we definitely advantageous and very nicely made and very useful for travelers.

Esther and Rick Vosveld, Son en Breughel (11 October 2008):
A lovely, spacious and fully equipped, house. A magnificent view over the vineyards.

John, Gerry, Bert and Joke Tinus, Rotterdam (8 november 2008):
A beautiful house with all amenities. Very complete there is really thought of everything. We enjoyed the beautiful view and beautiful surroundings. Unfortunately, we have these 2 weeks of 10 days of rain. The four beautiful days we have beautiful walks in the surrounding area. We also have the bad weather which visited towns and villages Uzes and we find a real winner. We do not make all the walks we wanted, so we will be back. Our compliments to the owners of this lovely home.

Fam. Jansen, Holten (2 May 2009):
Spacious and modern house, fully equipped, even Dutch channels on TV! The best part is the fantastic view of the surroundings. We also had beautifully clear weather, so that was extra nice. The pool was a bit on the cold side, but that in the summer will certainly not be. Highlights of the environment were the lÁrdeche Gorges, Les Concluses, La Roque sur Ceze and Orange. Also Chartreuse de Valbonne is beautiful, not least because of the surprising views of the Alps. Goudargues is a nice place with 2 good baker and a good supermarket and a nice "vide grenier" on May 1 In short, a successful holiday for six of us.

Corry and Kees Neck, Wijdewormer (6 June 2009):
The arrival was perfectly fine: 33 degrees and sunny! Apparently that was not enough because the next day it was 37 degrees in the shade! Enjoyed hearing such a pool, because we have daily, should "be given the great weather. The house is obviously very, very spacious and well equipped. A compliment to the zwembadman. We have a lot of rented houses with pool in France but never saw anyone so fanatical and meticulous cleaning the lot, chapeau! Oh almost forgot, the caveau on the cap you can buy the best wines on the Saturday evening there is sometimes a late party held at the inn. Thanks and until next time!

Ad & Mariet Louis, Dongen (20 June 2009):
Had two wonderful weeks here in the villa. The Gard is a truly beautiful part of France and with those temperatures (around 30 degrees) it is like living next to God. Compliments for frequently consulted, good documentation on the environment. Especially enjoyed the botanical walk near Chartreuse de Valbonne. A snake seen there! So watch out for the bushes (and what it rustles). Fine cuisine too. So nice that we have here every day gekokkereld. Delicious.

Fam. Stephens, Duffel, Belgium (11 July 2009):
We stayed two weeks in Villa Forza. It was our first time we were traveling to France. And we enjoyed it a lot here. The villa was just top: very good looks, spacious and beautiful. We always enjoyed the beautiful scenery while eating on the terrace and at the hottest times of the day of the pool. The region here is very pleasant: Cornillon, Goudargues, the Pont du Gard, Uzes, Pont St. Esprit ... We also went to the local markets have been. Goudargues has its charm, but the market in Pont St. Esprit is much larger ... There are many fruit stalls, but stalls with clothes, shoes and handbags. Finally, a visit to Domaine de Vilgoutres in Verfeuil worthwhile. We start therefore with a car full of beautiful memories, lavender, herbs and wine home. And we will definitely come back here. Lots of fun for the next guests.

Hannelie Daems-Swerts, Regulators (15 August 2009):
It was the first time we went to France on holiday, but we will definitely be back. The environment is very beautiful, we have daily trips, where we always have used the useful information folders .. We have the whole week had temperatures above 30 degrees (yesterday during our trip to the Camargue, it was even 37 degrees), so it was every time we arrived back in Villa Forza blessed to enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool to take. Forza Villa itself was indeed exactly as described on the website with the necessary space and comfort. We will also enjoy this holiday than to recommend friends and acquaintances. It was a very nice week. We have enjoyed and the kids enjoyed it.

Roel & Karin de Bree, Amsterdam (18-06-2005):
What a lovely house and a lovely part of France. We come back down again.

Jean-Paul & Baudowine Flipse, Leiden (01-07-2005):
We have here the past 2 weeks had a real heat wave, many hours every day swimming further really enjoyed the location, the vineyards, the silence ... We wish the incoming tourists a lot of fun.

Johan, Marie Paule, Barbara, Angela & Kristof Peferoen, Wevelgem (15-07-2005):
La douce France! We have experienced what "living like God in France" means. A beautiful well-maintained house in a beautiful area with a gorgeous weather. Wonderful time in a beautiful setting!

Patrick & Chrstine, Michael & Peggy Coussement, Zwevegem (22-07-2005):
When we arrived we were pleased to see that the internet pictures does indeed resemble reality. It is beautiful and we enjoyed plenty of this "mere" week. "Relax" was our motto here! We enjoyed the breakfast in the sun and lazily enjoy this short life!

Fam. Servaes-van de Wiele, Merelbeke (13-08-2005):
A very pleasant atmosphere and nice weather! Good wine and delicious food! A cozy and functional accommodation and the pool is ideal (for the smaller holidaymakers).

Louise & Victor Brilleman, Amsterdam (23-09-2005):
A beautiful house (ditto view) with excellent facilities, much more than well-equipped with its own clear ideas of ownership. Good professional information folders on region (state mostly not in the books!) Betrays the passion for the environment that we share ...

Bernard, Ria, Richard & Maria Verheyden, Bornem (01-10-2005):
It was nice here in France. Ditto the house, nothing to complain about, again fell, too. In short: a nice holiday heeeeeeele. Hopefully we come back again.

Gerry, Kathy, Chloe & Maelle Vandewalle, Dender (15-10-2005):
With pain in our hearts we leave this beautiful piece of paradise. The whole area and the nearby villages Cornillon, Goudargues, La Roque sur Ceze and Montclus are true gems. Fullest, we enjoyed the peace and a soft late summer weather. Unfortunately the water was too chilly to swim Slightly. We also thank the owners for their hospitality, there are plenty of facilities they offer their tenants: reading, information folders, CDs, not to mention the comfort of home ...

Ad & Mieke van de Molengraft, Nuenen (24-12-2005):
What we have enjoyed! Enjoyed the rest! Enjoyed this incredibly beautiful part of France, enjoyed the beautiful weather. Enjoyed the luxury and comfort of this spacious villa .... Every day, around half past nine the sun crept over the hill from an afternoon about five hours to the other side to duck. Day in, day out! And in December, delicious. As an avid hikers we fully come to deliver us. You can change from almost every village in the area a good hiking trail walk.

Fam. Ansems-Dumoulin, Amersfoort (06-01-2006):
The best moment of the day: opening the shutters and the landscape in your work, in your record every morning otherwise. Red of the rising sun, misty, always wide. The rhythm of the bare vineyards, orchards .... The great house was comfortable in all conditions ... This is a wonderfully comfortable home in a beautiful setting.

Ger Janssen & Erna van den Pas, 's Hertogenbosch (24-03-2006):
We came for rest and may already have some sun in the spring. Unfortunately, the sun provides us with some abandoned, but we thoroughly enjoyed the tranquility of the beautiful house with good facilities. Also on a lesser day exploring the area and several walking trails. A must for everyone, but takes into account a decent growth rate and good shoes are required. The cote du rhone from the village tastes delicious and is a reasonable price to buy the caveau in the village.

Fam. Vanoverschelde, Levendegem (08-04-2006):
After the cold winter months in Belgium, we investigated mainly sun and warmth! We have found here, but more than that: a powerful region for hikers and cyclists among us. Friendly villagers but also and especially a beauty of a real house with all the trimmings! Never were we so spoiled in this area: the comfort of dishwasher and washing machine and all kinds of household necessities and luxuries of beautiful music, a wide range of spiritual food and board games! It's become a wonderful week, where we will think back a lot of fun! And hopefully we get the chance to come back!

Martin, Jacqueline, Aaron & David Silvius, Leeuwarden (22-04-2006):
Like everyone, we are also impressed by the luxurious house and beautiful surroundings. And say what a rest! We have a week's holiday celebration, but a week there we did not have minded. There are many nice things to do ... We have seen much of the surroundings. Nimes (scolded) and Montpelier (very worth it, highly recommended!), The Mediterranean and major tourist attractions like Pont du Gard (you can also follow trails) and the Ardeche Gorge with great views. The weather gave us no time left in the lurch. Approximately 22 degrees per day. So nice outside meal.

Martin & Greta Garez, Dublin (29-04-2006):
The house was immaculate polished. Beautiful house, all comfort (very cozy). Very nice location, quiet. The small villages were visiting. The Pont du Gard and Avignon. Many walked and enjoyed the atmosphere. And then the peace and quiet, which we enjoyed our holiday. The weather was very good all week, only on Friday windy. Greetings and certainly next year if possible.

Jan, Els, Bavo & Norah Mortier, Aalten (27 May 2006):
With great expectations we came to Villa Forza. The pictures on the internet from home has made us dream. When we arrived everything was even better, bigger and more luxurious than in the photos. The villa is just fantastic! All the trimmings. Everything to the smallest details. We enjoyed an exceptionally beautiful holiday. The calm, the atmosphere, the incredible views will us long after this holiday memorable! Thank you for the hospitality that radiates your house: you feel really welcome from the first moment! We hope someday to come back here.

Arjan, Sabine, Niels & Dennis Koole, Backnang (10 June 2006):
Very enjoyed a beautiful environment and a very nice house. Especially the available (tourist) information were a very nice idea. Many used the BBQ. The butcher in Goudargues has good meat and tasty sausages. Altogether a very nice holiday, the children have really enjoyed their. We would gladly have stayed another week. We come back with certainty.

Rene and Rennie Zandstra, Hippolytushoef (24 June 2006):
What a fantastic house. Really all the trimmings. Personally, I enjoyed the silence, the host of butterflies, the sound of crickets and the beautiful view. We hope to come back again, there is still plenty to discover. For all of the following guests: have fun!

Fam. Heijtmeijer Houses, Aelse (29 July 2006):
Heat wave plaguing Europe, but in the Forza Villa remains fortunately cool. Too bad all of our planned trips. But that's a good reason to erug to come. Beautiful and very complete house where we really enjoyed it.

Fam. Deweirt-Pelst, Ghent (5 August 2006):
We have all had a week: heatwave, mistral, even a little rain. But above all a nice holiday in this comfortable home. J

an-Chambaere Platteau & Fam. Vandenbussche-Cagne, Rollegem & Zwevegem (12 August 2006):
Nice house, nice pool, beautiful surroundings ... or the whole week mistral. We have certainly enjoyed it.

Hilde, Paul, Esther & Daniel Laenen-Vervloesem, Putte-Grasheide (26 August 2006):
We have just two weeks holiday and we hope to sit on it again to come back to do .. We're glad to Saturday, August 12 arrived sank the courage ourselves in the shoes. It was bad weather. But when we opened the door of the house, everything was all better again. The house, the comfort, the music!, Strips, it surpassed our dreams. From the third day we got better and it's really beautiful. You can sun or shade, heat or cool looking. Everything is at hand. The location is excellent, you find the wine a few meters in the caveau, you do not feel like cooking, you can walk to a restaurant. Unfortunately it is our holiday and we can back out to an entire year by going to work and then back to onthaaasten and live like God in France, because that is what we have done the past two weeks.

Andre, Hildra, Stefan & Hematite World Deenderhoutem & Nieuwenhove (22 september 2006):
As a wheelchair patient on holiday in France you are never one hundred percent comfortable, but that turned out better than here. Everything from the flat and spacious living room, every place easily accessible. Great beds, spacious bathroom ... So we could enjoy and even bad weather here is deemed to everything: CDs, books, etc. But luckily we had all this not necessary, because the sun was shining ... and kept shining. We visited the Camargue and reached even very close to the flamingos. And Goudargues, so close and so cool, is a luxury that you are in France is not always awarded. But we most enjoyed the beautiful view from the terraces.
