La Pichonette

During the Corona crisis with the associated travel restriction, you can cancel free of charge. Les Pichons is a quiet, rural town. At the height of the pandemic, Indre was still a yellow area.

La Pichonette means rest, reading, walking, cycling, cooking. Visit markets, towns and castles. Sit in the sun or in the shade in an 800 m2 garden that you don't have to share with anyone. La Pichonette is located just under 300 km south of Paris. So: leave in the morning and arrive at 6 o'clock in the afternoon. You have already done your French shopping. It is almost always 4 to 5 degrees warmer than in the Netherlands. The sun really feels warmer too!

Only the sound of a cow, a buzzard, a tractor in the distance or an occasional passing car on the road ahead.

Upon arrival, open the shutters, put your luggage inside and store your groceries in the refrigerator. But then you will enjoy it on the terrace. Maybe with a glass of wine?

Later you make the very comfortable bed with your own familiar duvet covers and sheets and start cooking. Or do you opt for the convenience of the restaurant in the village on the first evening? When it gets dark you will remember what it is like when it is really dark. You look at which constellations you remember. The Big Dipper is easy to find. If you sit outside very quietly, you will hear and see nocturnal animals.

In the morning on the way to the bakery, a deer crosses the road. That's what you do it for. Cycling today? You can enjoy cycling or mountain biking in the distant surroundings. Or to the market in Lignieres or Saint-Août? Or a whole day at the beach and swimming in the Éguzon reservoir? Or a visit to Bourges Cathedral? Or to one of the many castles or country houses. There is enough choice for your entire stay! The brochures are ready for you.

When it is a bit cooler you sit inside. A CD is on. The wood in the stove occasionally splashes gently (wood is free, by the way).
There is sufficient reading light on both the sofa and armchair. The sofa can also be extended into a double bed for (un)expected guests. There is a large dining table. Cooking enthusiasts can enjoy themselves on the large stove or use the BBQ outside. A Senseo coffee machine, pans, wok, oven dishes, refrigerator with freezer and enough space for your own belongings complete the kitchen.

For your night's sleep, there is a very comfortable, spacious bedroom upstairs with an en-suite bathroom, but with a view of the beams and limestone walls. The bed is a 2-person twin bed of 1.80 x 2.00. There are duvets and four pillows, a 6-drawer chest and two racks for your suitcase(s). There is enough space for a travel cot for the smallest children.

There is garden furniture and a BBQ in the garden.

La Pichonette is for a moment... your own home in France.

At the end of your holiday, leave La Pichonette tidy. The house is cleaned by a local helper. You leave knowing that you are well rested and have enjoyed your stay.
