Le Magasin

The property is just outside the small village (about 95 inhabitants) Vaux-en-Pré, in the heart of southern Burgundy. In the immediate area you will find natural beauty, numerous Romanesque churches and chapels, hiking and cycling opportunities, culture, township and castles. The rivers and lakes offer swimming opportunities. The choice of good restaurants is overwhelming.
Our property is under the same huge roof as the neighbors: the mayor and his wife, who are also the host / wife for you. He does the garden, they are the guidance of the tenants!
The big house actually has only 2 bedrooms, in extension of each other. There is also sleeping accommodation in the living rooms (beds available) and in the utility room above the oven in the outbuildings. On the east side is a courtyard with lawn, on the west side the meadow (behind the gate) and the view over the valley.
Our guests are lovers of nature and tranquility, just like us. It is purposely that we have not placed a television and use only a small radio.

In the 1990s we searched for a charming accommodation in the beautiful South Burgundy. Why right here? We were talking about an interesting environment, not just nature, but also culture, such as monuments, architecture and urban scene. But the distance was also important for us: in about 6 hours we are from home (near Maastricht) to home. That opportunity took place in Vaux-en-Pré, where we bought two houses in a huge wine building. This is our house now!

Extra price information

We use one rate for the relatively short period of the year we rent. In the cool spring and autumn we prefer not to rent because it is necessary to work with the wood stove and not everyone has given it.

Additional information

In 2017, the 2nd living room, the former barnroom, was transformed into a prominent living. A 17th century chimney is mounted, in which is a wood burning stove. On the ceiling is a crystal luiter and the floor is decorated with burgundy plavuizen. In this room you feel your castle lady or gentleman!

  • Francis Strobbe, with the family. Gave on an average of 9.6

Prijs/kwaliteit/contact eigenaar: Top!
