What a gem, this monumental Oude Korenschuur from 1869. Just across the Belgian border, but immediately all the way to France with a church, pub, bakery and Spar just around the corner. A century and a half later, the imposing building has been thoroughly restored, preserving the old soul, but equipped with modern conveniences. There is a kitchen with a stylish interior, a living room with a wide view, bedrooms with wonderful beds, a spacious shower with powerful water and a covered terrace. In short, an authentic yet comfortable accommodation where you can enjoy the tranquility of the countryside.
You can also be active on the many hiking trails and mountain bike trails of the French Ardennes. The house is suitable for four to five people, with two bedrooms on the first floor, the one
with a double bed, the other with two single beds. In the so-called castle room there is an extra sleeping option with the use of a folding bed. To be honest, it is a bit on the tight side with 5 adults, it is easier with children. The Oude Korenschuur is an ideal place to exercise a lot in the beautiful Ardennes nature or to simply swing with a book in the hammock or to stare into the crackling fire by the wood stove. For up-to-date information and photos you could also take a look at the internet page of the Oude Korenschuur.
The cottage is surrounded by nature, in the Parc Naturel Régional des Ardennes. There are plenty of opportunities for excursions in the area. Interesting cities such as Reims, Sedan and Charleville-Mezieres, relaxing canoe trips on the Aisne, the Route des Eglises Fortifiées de Thiérache, adventurous climbing course through tree tops, hiking on one of the many routes, wandering through the woods, swimming and boating on one of the many lakes in the surrounding area. A little further on the other side is La Fermette, the Old Farm. That somewhat more spacious holiday farmhouse for six to eight people can be rented in combination, so that a holiday can be enjoyed with several families.
