The coast of the island is rich with beautiful little corners and sandy beaches can be found here and there. The coast is largely unspoilt and beaches are usually built by the residents and are not overcrowded. Not even in high season. Croats, coming from Galicia (Giebied N / W Ukraine and S / E Poland), traveled to Croatia the current set. In the 7th century They were dominated by the Byzantines, Franks and later the Hungarians. In the time that the Hungarians dominated (14th century), Dalmatia and Istria came under Venetian rule for liggen.Toen Ottomans (Turks) the Balkan marched, finally came in 1526 to the Battle of Mohacs and this caused the Habsburgs custody Croatia received. In the 18th century, most of Croatia was no longer in the hands of the Turks. The strange shape that Croatia currently has (half moon) is liberate because it was the front line for years between the Turks and Croats. Also Dalmatia, Istria and Dubrovnik finally came (about 1800) under Habsburg rule to lie. After the First World War (1914-1918) Croatia joined the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs. Shortly after a union was concluded with Serbia, and eventually in 1929, this area, the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. The German Shutters attacked Yugoslavia in World War 2 in (1940-1945) The Germans then made an independent state of Croatia. After the war, the whole of Yugoslavia became a federal Communist staat.Samen with Slovenia, Croatia declared independence on June 25, 1991 from Yugoslavia. Belgrade did not recognize this independence when there arose a war. First in 1992, Slovenia and Croatia recognized as an independent state of Austria and Germany were. After the Yugoslav army withdrew. The living in Croatia Serb population was disagreed and in the region where many Serbs attended the Krajina, the independent Republic of Serbian Krajina was proclaimed. In 1995, two major actions in that area by the Croats carried out, after a veritable exodus among this population took place. They all flights to the Serb areas in Bosnia and to Serbia.
The National Park Paklenica is one of the most interesting scientific and tourist areas in the northern part of the Mediterranean Sea. The impressive Canyon, bare Karst, with its high peaks of the Velebit and old pine and beech forests that surround these summits is a challenge for all nature lovers, scientists, mountain and rock climbers. The area is known for its large numbers of different animal and plant species of which some are very specific in that area. The different shapes of the peaks of this karst mountains, near the sea, gives a wonderful and exceptional image in this region, observed from many islands, including Vir. This mountain range is changing by the hour, weather and season of color. Already at the entrance, where you park your car, the rock walls hung menacingly over the visitors. It immediately becomes clear why this can find something for themselves to undertake here. Most famous, largest and mooitste rock climbing area of ??Croatia Every person's One can climb through longer or shorter sport routes. The climbing garden is also adventurous, and the beginner can here from the feet.
The Kornati- islands, the archipelago of the Croats, have their name from the largest island, Kornat with its 32.6 km2. The archipelago consists of eight islands, 109 islets and 30 reefs. The archipelago is about 35 km long and 13 km wide. The, on the eastern Adriatic frequent cliffs, are particularly high in the archipelago. The highest cliff is about 98 feet. The archipelago is one of the most fascinating seascapes and a paradise for boat tourists. Therefore 1980 was this group of islands, in the year a "National Park" proclaimed. Boat trips go to most tourist coastal towns to this area. The, in an area of ??307 km2 scattered archipelago, is the largest of its kind in the Mediterranean.
The river Krka is a typical Karst River, which is on its way to the Adriatic, numerous lakes, waterfalls and rapids. "The National Park Krka" has a total area of ??142 km2, of which 25 km2 is water. On the island Visovac in the eponymous lake, between two of the most beautiful watervallen- Roski slap and Stradinski buk, is a Franziskanenklooster with a valuable library. Skradinski buk waterfall, the highest kalkbariëre of Europe. In total, the mouth of the river, the Krka, which occurs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a length of about 72.5 km and 22 km after the river belongs to Kroatië.De river originates at the feed of the Dinaric Mountains, 3 , 5 km north-east of Knin.
At almost 30 km2 large nature was the title "World Cultural Assets" issued by UNESCO in this field in the eighties. En route, travel to your holiday destination on the Dalmatian coast is almost a must to visit this park. Again (I myself have been there three times and would definitely be a fourth time!) The 16 interconnected lakes, you can visit via a 50 kilometer-long network of hiking trails comfortable, sometimes through piles where water flows between. You will have a beautiful view of this area, with its different colors, and crystal clear lakes, each of which reflect their own colors. What many tourists do not know is that the area outside this tourist spectacle is home to bears wolves and lynxes. The area has many activities were affected by the war, but slowly comes back bovenop.De beautiful colors can be found in the summer with sunshine and the most spectacular water features in the spring. Even in winter, the area is open and beautiful images of icy waterfalls. Only the way there in the winter is not recommended. This area is a real snow area and can be extremely cold.
This old town should definitely have seen during your vacation.
The ancient city of Zadar. In cloudy weather, you can walk over the heads. Better visit times out early in sunny weather or in the evenings.
