Hoeve De Hagepoorter

Unwind in this restored farm buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries with a unique location in the village of Zerkegem (Jabbeke), surrounded by pasture and cropland. The presence of many small landscape elements such as hedges, hedges, pollard willows, orchard and veedrinkpoel invites nature observation (squirrels, hares, small birds of prey, bats, farmland birds, amphibians, butterflies, ...). Holiday for 2 to 6 people ..

An ideal base to explore both the art city of Bruges and the coast. The region around Bruges offers everything for enjoying an active holiday and culinary.

Hoeve De Poorter Hage is a realization of the Till family Waelput - Maite Arjona. After an extensive renovation and remodeling could be opened the doors in 2014. The houses are in the barn from 1871 and a part of the 18th century farmhouse. Hage Poorter is a medieval word meaning "citizen of a city that lives there outside" and is a nod to ourselves. Because we lived for years in Bruges where we have operated hotel Botaniek and Jan Brito.

Church of Zerkegem. Zerkegem is part of the municipality of Jabbeke (together with the villages of Snellegem, Stalhille and Varsenare). Already in 765 , the site is listed under the name Sirigoheim . Traces of a Celtic cemetery were found and in 867 the "Villa of Zerkegem" belonged to the abbey of St. Vaast in the South Flemish Atrecht (now the northern French city of Arras) .
