The beautiful beach of Kokomo Beach and Pirate Bay Beach is also only a few minutes away by car, just like Centrum Supermarkt and more than a hundred shops in Sambill Shopping Mall. The center of Willemstad with many shops, restaurants and museums can be reached in 10 minutes by car.

We are Leonard and Caroline and try to enjoy our trips abroad as much as possible. After our visit to Curaçao and Bonaire we decided to look for a nice place on Curaçao and found this in the beautiful surroundings of Blue Bay. Of course we would also like to share this with others!

For unforgettable shopping moments you have to be in our capital Willemstad, a charming harbor with chic shops, restaurants and many nice bars. This city is on the UNESCO World Heritage List due to its unique appearance and historical value. Vividly colored buildings bring Dutch colonial architecture to the attention.

The Hato Caves are located on the northern part of the island of Curaçao, near Hato Airport. The caves have been known and researched for centuries. The caves were used by refugee slaves, who hid there for the slave traders. Some slaves were therefore very long in these caves. The residents who lived there for the slaves were the Arawakindians. Some remains of these residents can still be seen, including cave paintings. Some petroglyphs are about 1500 years old. The caves have an area of ??approximately 4900 square meters.

Mushroom Forest is one of the top ten diving sites on Curaçao. The place is best reached by boat. The site is called Mushroom Forest, because of the large numbers of strong corals that grow vertically on a sand plateau and form a 'forest of mushrooms'. You get lost easily in this forest, so a compass can be useful.

Jan Thiel is especially a good place for novice divers and snorkelers. It is a shallow bay, covered on both sides with beautiful corals. This way you can see brain, deer, star and wire coral. The reef is accessible from the coast, but the current can be strong. So you better take a boat. There is a diving school located.

Klein-Curaçao is located a few miles southeast of the Oostpunt and is occasionally visited by fishermen, divers and tourists. It is no more than a rather porous plateau of coral stone that only protrudes just above sea level. Thanks to its isolated location, it is an ideal nature reserve for birds, crabs, turtles, frogs and lizards. There are some old wooden cabins where you can stay overnight. Sometimes the fishermen of Curaçao use this. The diving schools regularly offer unique and adventurous day trips to Klein-Curaçao, so that you can view the untouched nature under water.

The Dutch coastal sailor Superior Producer (under Panamanian flag) sank in 1977, just outside the port of Willemstad. It lies at a depth of 34 meters and is one of the most beautiful shipwrecks in the Caribbean. The location, marked with a yellow park buoy, can be reached from the shore or by boat. Access is at Piscadera Bay. Swimming from the shore takes about 10 minutes. There is often strong current. It is a place for experienced divers.

Seaplane wreck
Close to the Superior Producer, close to the city, are the remains of a seaplane that probably fell from an aircraft carrier during the Second World War. For lovers of diving to wrecks this is a good location, although you have to watch out for the ammunition that is still here and there. It can still explode, so stay away from it!

Porto Marie is an elongated sandy beach in a large bay with a bar / restaurant. The attraction for divers from Porto Marie, also called The Valley, is that it is indeed a valley with a beautiful reef on both sides. You will find fish that you hardly see anywhere else: cornet fish and occasionally even small nurse sharks. You can also see angel fish, parrot fish, groupers, brown chromis, yellowtail snappers, trigger fish, trumpet fish, sea turtles, crabs and stingrays. There is minimal flow. Porto Marie has had a diving school since a few years.
